In the south of Arizona, in the midst of the unique Sonoran Desert, lies Tucson. The second largest city in Arizona is known for its ethnic and cultural diversity, which is reflected in both the local cuisine and the annual festivals. Tucson is an excellent starting point for numerous attractions such as the Saguaro National Park with its giant cacti up to 12 meters tall, the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, and the Biosphere 2. The desert and nearby mountains can be explored by bike, horseback, and hiking. Accommodations range from boutique hotels in downtown to luxury resorts and a variety of ranches in the surrounding area. GIA serves the German-speaking travel industry on behalf of Visit Tucson.
